I am on the quest to find a good copy cat recipe for Wegman’s Pane Bread (I think that’s a bit redundant since ‘pane’ is ‘bread’ in Italian!).
I’ve always wanted to learn how to make bread, the old-fashioned way — without a bread maker. I have to admit I’m a bit afraid of any recipe that calls for yeast, but I have had some success with a Norweigen cinnamon bread (thanks, Aunt Kirsten!) that I make at Christmas. So, I think I’m ready to jump right in and tackle this!
And, that’s where I need your help! If you have a great recipe for Italian bread, would you mind sharing? I’ll be sure to post my results here for you all to see!
Thanks!

I’d be happy to help you make italian bread!
Why thank you, Mrs. Frisbee! Do you have a great recipe you would be willing to share?

I do hope this recipe gets posted, cause I do love bread, but I am really hoping you put up the cinnamon bread recipe. My fiance has obscenely fond memories of a cinnamon bread from a German bakery in town when he was a kid. I have tried several recipes that just don’t cut the mustard, but maybe yours is the one!
I’ll be sure to post the recipe soon! And, the cinnamon bread one too….it’s a traditional Norweigen bread.
I have a recipe for an Italian Herb Bread done in a bread machine. It’s not exactly like what you’re looking for, but maybe it’ll be helpful. I love this bread & it gets huge raves every time I make it for people.

Thanks, Caitlin! I’ll definitely have to give this a try! Thanks for sharing and for reading!
