I absolutely LOVE when my son helps me in the kitchen. He’s only 4, but already, he loves to help cook and bake. I love that we’re spending quality time together and he’s learning so many great skills. Someday, his wife will thank me too!
The other night I came across this great article on Williams-Sonoma’s Facebook page…so I “Face Lifted” it! That’s when you copy/imitate/repost something that you saw on Facebook. Isn’t that a great term?!?
I thought it was a great a list of ways you can get kids involved in the kitchen!
Do your kids help in the kitchen? Do you have an aspiring mini-chef in the house? I’d love to hear about it!

My own mom taught me how to cook when I was just a kid, it’s great that you cook with your kid.
I’ve bought a kid cooking knife for my 6 years old niece and she has been helping me in the kitchen.
I teach in a Japanese elementary school and I often attend the cooking classes, it’s amazing to see what the kid can cook.
Misono and Kai both make special knives for kids. I don’t know if they are available in your area, but they are really nice.
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll have to look for those knives. Right now, I just give him a butter knife and his own cutting board. He loves it! Our time in the kitchen are some of my favorite memories!
Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!
I found this about Japanese kid cooking knives.
