Apple Cake

Apple CakeI found this recipe in the pile, scrawled on the back of a greeting card envelope!  Thinking back, I believe it was one of my mother’s recipes and I think she got it from her neighbor, years and years ago. I was looking to make some thing homey and I had a few apples that I wanted to use up so this was a perfect candidate! (more…)

Today, Barb from Santa’s Gift Shoppe notified me that I was being featured on her blog! It’s so exciting to be featured on someone else’s blog.  It kind of validates what I’m doing…sort of like an affirmation that people (other than my family members that I harass to read my posts) are actually reading what I have to say! I was very flattered by the recognition!

If you haven’t checked out Barb’s blog yet, why not pop over and say “hi”! Tell her that It’s a Keeper sent you!  And, while you’re there, check out all of the recipes, crafts and other tutorials.  There are some really awesome looking Chocolate Peanut Butter Mini Bundt Cakes that I’m dying to try!

Thanks again, Barb, for highlighting It’s a Keeper today! You made my day!

Oh, and check out her photo for this recipe…I had a camera mishap and don’t have a photo for this recipe.  (more…)

Scrambled Egg Brunch BraidWith a 4-year old son, I’m figuring the Christmas morning is going to be quite exciting!  In the midst of all of the excitement I want to have something for breakfast that is special, delicious and easy to make.  That’s not too much to ask, is it?!?

I have just the recipe to fit the bill, too!  I used to make this brunch braid when I hosted Mother’s Day brunch.  It was a huge hit with everyone.  So, I thought I would share it with you.  This recipe is also in our first cookbook, Hitchcock Family Favorites(more…)
