A Stylish Blogger Award!

I’ve spent the entire day today prepping for Thanksgiving.  I’ve been chopping, sauteing, whisking and assembling.  Couple that with cleaning, table setting, silver polishing and dish washing.  So now, at 10:01 pm on the eve of Thanksgiving, I’m (finally!) sitting down to relax.

While I waiting for my laptop to start up, the impatient side of me kicked in and I checked my email on my phone.  That’s when I saw it.  An email announcing that It’s a Keeper has recieved TWO Stylish Blogger Awards!  One from Shannon@Declecalicious! and one from Alison@PrairieStory!  How exciting!

I’ve been working on this blog for almost a year now.  And, to tell you the truth, I didn’t even know if anyone would interested in reading what I had to say.  This has been a great experience for me.  I love trying new recipes, writing about them and being a photo stylist while my husband is snapping pictures.  And, I love how my 4-year old son is so interested in helping me in the kitchen.

I have a lot to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving Eve!  I’m thankful for my wonderful family, the love and support of my two favorite guys, the greatest friends a girl could have and a happy home where everyone is welcome at the table.

7 Things About Me……

1:  I have the best husband!

We’ve been married for 10 years and he still manages to surprise me!

2:  My son is my world.

He’s the brightest, funniest, cutest, kindest, most energetic person I know.  He’s also my sous-chef!

3: I have a special place in my heart for veterans.

Maybe it’s because I’m blessed to have 3 men in my life who have all served in our military during war time (my brother – Operating Iraqi Freedom, my father, Vietnam and my grandfather, WWII).

4:  I love to chop vegetables.

I find it very satisfying to chop, dice and mince.  It’s quite calming.

5:  I am deathly afraid of snakes.

I can handle any other creepy crawly insect, bug, spider, worm, whatever…just not snakes.  Not ever.

6:  I have a letter in my middle name that is not in our alphabet.

Sorine.  It’s my great-grandmother’s name.  It’s Norweigen and the “0″ should have a diagonal line through it.

7:  I read magazines backwards.

I don’t know why. I just do.  I always start at the back and work my way to the front.
