I am dying to learn how to can! Except I can’t find anybody to teach me. I’m not very good at reading and then doing. I’m much more a visual learner — more hands on. I need to find a little old lady that been canning for years that can show me what to do!
I’m growing so many great things in my garden this year and I want to be able to preserve them. Tomatoes, broccoli, green beans, peppers, etc…
Not to mention the fruit! We planted 31 blueberry bushes this year and I’m heading out to pick strawberries tomorrow. I’d also love to put up some of the yummy peaches piled up in my grocery store.
Anyone have a grandma they can loan me?

My family loves homemade oatmeal for breakfast. We each have our favorite toppings — blueberries, raisins, cinnamon and brown sugar.
When I came across this recipe to make oatmeal in a slow cooker. I was excited! The idea of having my slow cooker slave away while we all slept was very enticing. The best part would be waking and having breakfast ready! Continue Reading »
